| Name: | Madoc Kaicil |
|---|---|
| Location: | Acropolis |
Madoc Kaicil ![]() Age: 29 Sex: Male Height: 6' 6" Race: (Mostly) human. 1/4 demon Abilities: Demolitions and ammunitions expert, basic machinist, first-class voidmage- Order of Vultures (see below), first-class healer mage- Order of Doves (see below) History: Born to (mostly) human parents in a small desert lowland town, Madoc seemed destined for nothingness. When he was four, his family adopted the bastard demon prince, Zable. The two became friends and partners in petty crime, Madoc often planning the so-called heists. When he was six, Madoc was visited by a resident of the floating city Arcropolis, and was promised that he would attend the King's Academy of mage studies. He did just that, starting when he turned 17. Madoc attended the academy for seven years, but showing no discernable magical ability. He was shuffled off to become a scholar-mage, a member of the Order of Sky Larks. He was 24 when his life finally changed. A bungled heist left him in posession of a book, one with an old mage's spirit sealed inside. Knowing that he would be kicked out for not turning the book in immediately, Madoc contacted his adoptive brother and joined the crew of the pirate sandship Neverlost. |
the sandship, "Neverlost" ![]() The Neverlost was "appropriated" by Zable, and Madoc's pupose on the ship is as a jack of all trades. He is Zable's brother, and keeps him out of much trouble. He also serves as reseracher for the "treasure hunts", machinist and engineer for the ship, and navigator. His main duty, however, is as the munitions and demolition expert aboard the ship. |
the city, Acropolis ![]() A floating city in the desert, all white marble and Roman-inspired architecture. It should be a paradise, kept alost by mages waving a gravitational field around it. All citizens of the city are required to have a six-pin triple port on their neck that connects directly to their spinal cord, and must keep a plug in at all times when in the city. The plug allows access to the city's communication network...and allows the city to track where all residents are at all times, and monitor their thoughts. Among other things, the city houses the King's Academy, a school that has divisions teaching everything from military studies to mage studies. The mages are classed according to ability, from scholar mages with no apparent ability (Sky Larks), to voidmages able to sending anything into another dimention and creating anything from it at the cost of their soul and sanity (Vultures), to healers (Doves). |
the spirit, Kyrie ![]() Madoc found himself in possession of a book at age 24. This book, one of the priceless treasures of the academy, housed the soul of an ancient healer mage- Kyrie. Madoc and Kyrie became friends, and she served as a mentor to him, appearing as a ghost-like apparition. It was through her that he was finally able to unlock his ability and discover the terrible power he held, one that would devour his soul when used and slowly dissolve him into madness. Madoc eventually became attached to Kyrie, to the point of loving her. Unfortunately, Kyrie's book was falling apart, and Madoc had to find another place to keep her. He finally decided that he would use his power to chip away at his soul, and then house her in his body once he had "made room" for her. Kyrie reluctantly agreed, and she is now tied to his body as her symbiotic "host". |
